Meeting of Council of Commissioners for Human Rights

On May 16, a meeting of the Council of Commissioners for Human Rights under the chairmanship of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova was held in Yalta.

The main topic of discussion was the draft resolution of the Coordinating Council of the Commissioners for Human Rights in the Russian Federation. This year, the Coordination Council is dedicated to protecting the rights of people with mental health problems.

In addition, the members of the Council of Commissioners discussed broad human rights agenda: the nomination of candidates for the Russian Federation State Prizes for outstanding achievements in the field of human rights and charitable activities; participation in organization of the human rights shift of the Russian Educational Youth Forum "Terra Scientia"; the ceremony of awarding the High Commissioner’s Medal "Hasten to do good" and other issues.

Participants of the meeting also identified the topic of the next Coordinating Council of Commissioners for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, which will be held in November 2018. It’s going to be "Protection of citizens' rights to education".
